Conservation Tree Program

The Waseca Soil and Water Conservation District tree program was developed to provide landowners with an affordable way to purchase trees and shrubs for conservation practices, such as windbreaks, shelter belts, living snow fences, and wildlife habitat.  Many of the county's shelter belts, farmstead and field windbreaks, wildlife habitat, and reforestation have been started as a result of the SWCD Tree Program.

The tree program is on a first come, first serve basis. Orders are taken from the end of December through mid February.
Payment in full is due with your order.  The delivery date is usually mid April/beginning of May.
You will be notified when the trees can be picked up.

The SWCD reserves the right to cancel your order and refund the payment if trees become unavailable. Refunds will not be made for any other reasons.
SWCD is not responsible for trees, shrubs or wildflowers that do not grow or come back the next year.
Winner of the Meyer Spruce at the Waseca County Fair was

                                                        2022 Tree Orders

As in the last few years, Arbor Day was the pick up day.  Since the weather has kept most indoors, many were ready to be working outside and getting their trees and shrubs planted.  This year the Waseca SWCD sold 7193 trees and shrubs.  This was down a little bit from last year.  However, the Wildflower packs have increased to 20 orders this year.  We had three new trees this year.  They were the Whitespire Birch, the American Linden,  and the Autumn Blaze Maple.  All three sold out quickly.
A quick note:  Get your orders in early--first come first serve.

2021 Tree Order Pick Up was Great!!  The weather was wonderful and 95% of the orders were picked up on April 30.  Thank you all for ordering and planting trees and shrubs to better our beautiful landscapes, wildlife areas, and creating and maintaining windbreaks.

There were 7,257 trees and shrubs sold this year and 16 Wildflower Packs.

2020 Tree Distribution was a great success.
The majority of tree and shrub orders were picked up on May 1.
The wildflowers were picked up by June 5.
5,156 trees and shrubs were distributed and 13 wildflower packs.
