Cost Share dollars can be used for a number of conservation projects, from 25% to 100% depending on the project/practice.
There is money available for cover crops, strip till/no till, windbreaks, terraces, sediment control basins, grassed waterways, water storage, wetland restoration, stream bank stabilization, pollinator area upgrade, side inlets, well sealing, septic tank replacement-with income limits, and other projects!

Grants & Funding
Waseca County SWCD relies on Grants from the State of Minnesota through Board of Water and Soil Resources (BWSR) to fund the projects that are done in the county. Waseca County also aids in the funding and new in 2023 State funding as an Aid for SWCD's. BWSR Grants normally run for a 2 year period. This gives the District and landowners time to complete projects and receive payment assistance. As practices and projects are completed, funding can be used to help pay for the project. The payments vary from partial to full payments to the landowner.
