Waterways

Waterways are one of the many erosion control practices used today.  Waterways have been installed since the Dust Bowl Years, to reduce soil erosion and prevent sediment from leaving the cropland.  There are many waterways throughout Waseca County.

2020 Waterway project partially funded with Cost Share Grant Dollars

Rapid water runoff has caused a deep gully, becoming a problem for the landowner.  After the project was installed, water flow was more controlled and less erosive.
